Plug me in!

After going to bed about 9.00pm last night, I figured it was a good bet I'd be awake in time for the sunrise.  I put my phone by the bed and on waking for the first time, checked the time.  Hmmmm 11.15pm.  The next time I woke it was about 3.30am.  Thankfully I went back to sleep and this time woke at 5.30am.  The sunrise was really lovely and not as cold at that hour as I had anticipated.

Given the fridge was now barely cold, we decided to stop just a little bit up the road for our next night at Glendambo.  Our original plan was to freecamp another night, but camping and food poisoning don't go well together and Glendambo offered powered sites and a reasonable distance to drive to Coober Pedy the next day.

The day started off quite overcast but the clouds once again cleared and we made a stop or two along the way to take in more of the desert scenery.

One of the massive trains that can regularly be seen winding their way through the desert.

Glendambo Caravan Park at a little after 11.00am when the last overnight traveler had departed.

The view from our door across to the rustic camp kitchens.

We decided since we had the afternoon free to take a drive around the area with the hope of a few more photo opportunities however the day became quite overcast making photos a little on the dull side.

This is the view from my door tonight!

And a really pretty sunset over the park and as you can see - things got a little crowded quickly in the afternoon.

Tomorrow we are off to Coober Pedy which will be our northern most point of the trip.
